An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and motivated Community Mental Health Support Worker to join the Sutherland Integrated Health and Social Care Team, based at Assynt Medical Practice in Lochinver.This rewarding role involves supporting individuals experiencing mental health difficulties within their own homes and local communities across West Sutherland. You will work closely with Community Mental Health Nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred, recovery-focused care, helping individuals to maintain independence, improve wellbeing and engage with services.The post holder will provide practical and emotional support, assisting with care plans, promoting self-management and supporting early intervention to prevent deterioration and reduce the need for more intensive services.You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills, empathy and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a community setting.A full driving licence is essential, and access to a vehicle for work purposes may be required.Located on the stunning west coast of the Highlands, Lochinver offers an exceptional quality of life, with access to breath taking landscapes, outdoor pursuits and a strong sense of community—supporting a positive work–life balance.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES

  • Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
