Job summary

Ready to build your skills in a supportive CAMHS multi disciplinary team, helping people who present with acute mental health difficulties? Join the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service as a Community Mental Health Professional, based at our newly refurbished Grianagh Court site. Under the supervision of our Clinical Lead and Practitioners, you will carry out holistic assessment of need and risk, develop clear care and risk management plans with colleagues, triage new referrals with senior support, and contribute to community based care including supported discharge and treatment at home as an alternative to inpatient.

Main duties of the job

This role gives you the chance to strengthen your assessment, communication and therapeutic skills while working alongside experienced practitioners who will support your development through supervision. You will use your empathy and ability to build relationships to support individuals and families in distress, adapting your approach where barriers exist. Working across a 24 hour, 7 day service, you will gain valuable experience managing risk, engaging people in the community and contributing to collaborative, recovery focused care, building your confidence as a Community Mental Health Professional.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Mental Health Professional Registered with NMC.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.

  • Higher academic qualification in health/ social care field e.g. BSc.

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Experience of a range of Mental Health conditions, and treatments/ interventions.

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, e.g. Mental Health Act.

  • Experience of working in Child & Adolescent settings.

Circumstances and Interests

  • Full, valid driving licence.
