Job overview

Community Administrative Officer

The post holder will provide administrative support to the Community Nursing Services and act as a focal point for communication between the nursing staff, patients, referrers into the service and the multi-disciplinary team. Work independently but under the direction and guidance of the Adult Community Supervisor. He/she will work in partnership with all members of the community nursing teams to ensure that patients receive an appropriate, efficient comprehensive service.

Main duties of the job

Provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the Community Nursing Teams.

Manage patient records, nursing caseloads and data systems, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.

Handle telephone calls, emails and messages, prioritising urgent enquiries and liaising with patients, colleagues and external agencies.

Support workforce administration, including booking agency and bank staff shifts.

Prepare meeting documentation, take minutes and distribute reports, letters and correspondence.

Produce reports and maintain effective filing, scanning and document management systems.

Assist in the development and improvement of administrative processes and office systems, including the use of Excel and other digital platforms.

Support the Cluster Matrons, Operational Manager for Rapid Response and wider team with the day-to-day operational running of the service.

The job holder may from time to time be asked to undertake other reasonable duties.
