MPFT’s Communications Manager role is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic and creative team responsible for telling MPFT's story.
The postholder will be play a key role in a hard-working and outcome driven team who are focused on developing high quality communications that authentically tell MPFT’s story while also articulating the organisation’s ambitions for the future.
The post is fundamental in supporting the delivery of the communications strategy, sharing innovations and news ways of working, which align to the government's 10-year plan. While delivering a competent business-as-usual communications service across four distinct Care Groups. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and professional communications expert to develop their skills and work across a range of campaigns and projects.
Main duties of the job
- Provide specialist communication advice to staff across the organisation including directors and senior leaders.
- Develop and implement communication plans and activities in alignment to the communications strategy and the Trust's key priorities.
- Design and develop complex and dynamic content which is suitable for use across all of the Trust's channels.
- Develop content in a range of formats including written copy and digital formats.
- Act independently in the delivery of campaign, communicating effectively to the wider team and organisation and ensuring that the direction is in line with corporate requirements.
- Confidently liaise with external stakeholders including press and media. Prepare press releases/media responses as required and to deadline requirements.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Provide specialist communication advice to staff across the organisation including directors and senior leaders.
- Develop and implement communication plans and activities in alignment to the communications strategy and the Trust's key priorities.
- Design and lead communications which are reflective of the Trusts strategic direction and commensurate with best practice, political agendas and corporate style.
- Design and deliver complex campaign approaches and tools in the context of the intended audience and complexities of issue.
- Act independently in the delivery of campaign, communicating effectively to the wider team and organisation and ensuring that the direction is in line with corporate requirements.
- Participate and contribution to the team’s wider planning processes to support and advice colleagues from their area of specialism.
- Develop and produce campaigns materials including copywriting, proof-reading and content which can be used across digital platforms.
- Confidently liaise with media contacts on key issues and prepare press releases / media responses as required.
