Job overview

The post holder will support as well as manage and lead on relevant contracts within the centralised contracting function which incorporates Commissioned and Non-Commissioned Contracting services.

The role includes responsibilities such as providing advice and analysis, providing consistent service improvement for the contracting services, support contract negotiations / monitoring / reporting, supporting pathway developments, supporting programmes and projects, supporting planning / budget setting / reporting / financial and performance management / forecasting, supporting the completion of pricing / costing, help identify cost savings and co-ordinate/collate information required for contract management.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will:

  • ·       Managing the day-to-day activities and tasks, whilst prioritising workload and ensuring the team provides the most effective contracting service to the Trust.
  • ·       Supporting the effective management of the contracting agenda on behalf of the Trust including service development and improvement.
  • ·       Support Strategic Partnership team to facilitate and lead the dialogue on collaboration and to challenge, influence and shape collaborative contracting agendas, implementing structural and operational collaborative initiatives that benefit the Trust.
  • ·       Act as Trust lead and reference point for assigned contracting matters, including legislation.
  • ·       Build and maintain the reputation of the service as a highly professional and enabling business support service and increase satisfaction among key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • ·       Contribute to achieve the goals and corporate objectives set out in business cases ensuring improvements and benefits are achieved and delivered.
  • ·       Support the prioritisation, development, introduction, and implementation of policies and procedures for contracting.
  • ·       Manage a constant stream of conflicting priorities utilising exceptional organisation or communication skills, ensuring that complex technical information can be explained in non-technical / business terms.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder must balance competing demands and priorities, working  across all the portfolio, supporting the finance team, and be capable of  representing the Trust with partners and other stakeholders.

In conjunction with the Strategy & Partnerships team, the post holder will  support aspects of the Trust transformation programme and work in  collaboration with local partners to identify any opportunities for further  collaboration at Surrey, Sussex, Kent & Medway, and Frimley Integrated  Care Systems (ICSs)
