Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Application is invited for an exciting Clinical Research Fellowship in Fetal Medicine at the Medway Fetal and Maternal Medicine Centre (MFMC) starting August/September for a 2-year period.
The fellowship provides excellent opportunities for obtaining skills in research and clinical Fetal Medicine and management of high-risk pregnancies. There will be opportunities to undertake a research project and work towards peer-reviewed publications. Interested candidate will be supported to register for higher academic degree. The fellow will also learn basic, intermediate and advanced skills in obstetric ultrasound and learn management of high-risk pregnancies. The fellowship encourages candidates to acquire skills in advanced obstetric ultrasound and Fetal Medicine but also to learn developing a designing a research study, management of research databases, statistical analysis and publishing their work in peer-reviewed journals.

Qualifications

- MBBS (or equivalent).
- Full MRCP
- ALS

- MRCOG (or equivalent)
- Desire to learn and acquire skills in obstetric ultrasound and ambition to pursue Fetal-Maternal medicine as a career
Clinical Skills
Essential
- Understanding of clinical risk management.
- Competent to work without direct supervision where appropriate.
Desirable
- Possess Basic ultrasound skills
Language Skills
Essential
- that applicants have undertaken undergraduate medical training in English; or • have achieved the following scores in the academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) in a single sitting within 24 months at time of application – Overall 7.5, Speaking 7, Listening 7, Reading 7, Writing 7.
Clinical Experience

- Experience of working at Registrar grade on Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Desirable
- Experience of working in a tertiary obstetric unit
- Completion of ST4/5 training in O&G or equivalent
