The Role
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out care duties for patients, in support of a registered nurse/Operating Department practitioner (ODP) and will regularly work unsupervised but with the wider theatre team available for reference at all times.
The post holder will also carry out assigned duties involving direct and indirect patient care within the theatre environments
The post holder will be required to perform physical/technical/emotional aspects of patient care in an efficient, effective and responsible manner with accuracy in a busy environment.
In this key role, you will:
Check theatre list and ensure theatre is ready for use. This involves cleaning, obtaining, checking and technically setting up of specialist theatre equipment, cleaning of work surfaces, floors, cupboards etc prior to each surgical case to ensure patient safety and infection control to reduce the risk of infection.
