Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to join the team at the renowned London Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Centre of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. As Clinical Lead OT, you will provide expert rehabilitation for patients with highly complex Spinal Cord Injuries. You will work within an exemplary team of Therapists and closely with Doctors, Nursing colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding patient care and support the development of the service.

This role combines clinical practice with leadership, education, service development, quality improvement and research. You will provide clinical leadership to therapy staff, contribute to workforce development, and drive innovation to improve patient outcomes. You will receive invaluable mentorship by the outgoing post-holder for the duration of the contract.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide professional and operational leadership to the LSCIC Occupational Therapy team, contribute to multidisciplinary service development, support research and quality improvement activities, and represent LSCIC Occupational Therapy at local, regional and national levels.

The post holder will manage the Occupational Therapy service within the London Spinal Cord Injury Centre, ensuring delivery of safe, effective, evidence-based and patient-centred rehabilitation in line with national spinal cord injury standards.

The post holder will provide expert clinical leadership and highly specialist occupational therapy intervention for individuals with traumatic and non-traumatic spinal cord injuries across inpatient, outpatient and community pathways.
