An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cardiff and Vale University R&D for a Research Nurse to become part of a growing and dynamic research delivery team.
This role will be supporting exciting and innovative research within the department.
We are seeking to employ a band 6 Registered Nurse with research and/or clinical experience with an interest in vascular surgery who will bring enthusiasm and have a desire to develop.
The post holder will be based at the University Hospital of Wales and will be employed to support the growing portfolio of vascular surgery studies.
Funding is provided by Health and Care Research Wales supports NHS Research and Delivery (R&D) Departments led by a R&D Director to provide local services for research support and facilitates the sponsoring and hosting of studies within UHB’s across Wales. Part of this service includes a NHS research delivery team consisting of Research Nurses, Clinical Studies Officers, Research Officers and Administrators, employed by NHS organisations to support the delivery of high quality health and social care studies.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
This post is 30 hours fixed term for 12 months from the start date, due to maternity cover. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of the ivascular surgery research portfolio, managing recruitment of research participants into studies, set-up and closure of studies, data management and reporting metrics in line with key performance indicators for research in Wales. The post holder will have research or extensive clinical experience and possess excellent clinical skills. The post holder will be expected to work closely with directorate colleagues in order to deliver a quality research service, enhancing the patient experience and providing reputational excellence for Cardiff and Vale Research Delivery teams.
