We have an exciting research opportunity in our Vascular Surgery department, for a Clinical Fellow.
As a Clinical Research Fellow, you will be expected to undertake a research project leading to a higher degree, as well as to attend clinical governance meetings, mortality and morbidity meetings, regional and national educational meetings and vascular clinics and theatres.
You will take part in a training programme with regular supervision and appraisal. We will encourage you to undertake clinical research projects under the supervision of the consultants; this is expected to lead to an MD Thesis for submission.

Main duties of the job
If successful, you will be expected to:
- Run a monthly journal club and provide a ward based teaching session for either medical students (in term) and/or multidisciplinary professionals (out of term) once per week
- Attend 2 x Inpatient theatre lists per week where research procedures will be carried out.
- Undertake 2 x Outpatient clinics per week under supervision; which will include discussing patients seen in clinic with the supervising consultant with the aim of recruiting them into clinical trials.
You will will also have research responsibilities and will be given training in Clinical trial methodology depending on level of experience and pre-existing competencies.
