You will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, contributing psychological expertise to care planning, risk assessment, and decision-making processes. You will deliver psychological interventions and provide expertise at CPA reviews, offering guidance on treatment approaches, risk management, and ongoing care needs. As a senior member of the psychology team, you will support the development of colleagues through supervision, training, and professional guidance, while contributing to staff education across the wider service. You will play an active role in Clinical Governance, quality improvement initiatives, research, and audit projects, helping to shape innovative approaches to care and service delivery.

In this rewarding role, you will take the lead on the psychological assessment, formulation, treatment and evaluation of a defined patient group, ensuring timely and effective interventions that support individual recovery goals. Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, you will contribute psychological expertise to care planning, risk assessment and decision-making processes, helping to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.

You will deliver focused psychological interventions, undertake specialist assessments using psychometric measures, and provide expert input at CPA reviews, offering guidance on treatment approaches, risk management and ongoing care needs. You'll also have the opportunity to develop and deliver therapeutic group programmes, evaluate their effectiveness and contribute to the continued enhancement of services through evidence-based practice.

As a senior member of the psychology team, you will support the development of colleagues through supervision, training and professional guidance, while contributing to staff education across the wider service. You will play an active role in Clinical Governance, quality improvement initiatives, research and audit projects, helping to shape innovative approaches to care and service delivery.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• BPS recognised psychology degrees (essential)
• HCPC Registration (essential).
• Appropriate post-graduate qualifications (desirable)
• To be an approved supervisor within the guidelines of the BPS and relevant division (desirable).
• Experience of applying psychological knowledge to a forensic or psychiatric setting (desirable).
• Experience of working with clients with cognitive deficits (desirable).
• Experience of providing psychological interventions (essential).
• Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (essential).
• Developing, facilitating and evaluating group and individual evidence-based programmes (desirable).
• Previous experience of conducting research and project working (essential).
• Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice (essential).
• Ability to apply psychological knowledge to a rehabilitation setting (essential).
• Knowledge of substance misuse and the impact on mental health (Desirable)
• Ability to adopt a systematic approach (essential).
• Communication skills (essential).
• Skills to work independently and as part of multi-disciplinary team (essential).
• Presentational and group work skills (desirable).
• Knowledge of SPSS or similar statistical package, word processing and computer skills (desirable).
• Organisational skills (essential).
