This is an exciting opportunity for a psychologist to develop their specialist skills in autism. You will be joining a well-established, experienced and friendly MDT.

The post is for one day per week, for a period of twelve months providing an opportunity to contribute to multidisciplinary autism assessments including clinical interviewing, use of standardised assessment tools, formulation and report writing.

This opportunity may be particularly beneficial for those looking to enhance formulation skills in autism alongside mental health difficulties, as well as diagnostic skills in neurodevelopmental conditions.

You will be supported  by experienced clinicians in the team and will have access to clinical supervision from the current Principal Clinical Psychologist.

Although the base for the post is Aire Court, there is potential for some on-line working as part of the role. Please ensure that you have discussed his opportunity with your line manager before applying.

Main duties of the job

The candidate will be clinical interviewing service users accessing the Autism service. They will be utilising standardised assessment tools, coupled with their skills in formulation and report writing to support service user care and provide diagnosis.

They will provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to the service users’ formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.

The candidate will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
