The role offers the opportunity to develop expertise across a wide range of specialist areas including critical care pharmacotherapy, antimicrobial stewardship, medicines optimisation, therapeutic drug monitoring and independent prescribing.
You will become an integral member of the ICU multidisciplinary team, supporting patients through expert clinical review, evidence-based prescribing advice and safe medicines management from admission through to discharge.
As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will contribute to service development, governance and quality improvement whilst supporting the education and development of junior pharmacy staff.

- Provide proactive, evidence-based medicines advice to prescribers, supporting safe, effective and cost-efficient prescribing practice.
- Deliver and support a range of medicines management services, ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines across ICU.
- Identify opportunities to improve pharmaceutical services and contribute to the development and implementation of service improvements, governance initiatives and audit activity.
- Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to rotational pharmacists, foundation trainees and pharmacy students through supervision, teaching and training.
- Participate in the pharmacy dispensary and weekend rota, contributing to the wider pharmacy service as required.
