This is an exciting opportunity to join the Central Norfolk Early Intervention in Psychosis team on a full-time, permanent basis as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. In this role, you will offer senior clinical contribution and supervision to specialist team assessment, formulation, treatment and care of service users aged 14-65 experiencing First Episode Psychosis .
The successful candidate will have extensive experience of working alongside service users and families with complex health and social care difficulties within the community and prior experience of working with psychosis is essential
This Clinical Nurse Specialist role will include Non-Medical Prescribing to the Central Norfolk caseload as appropriate and under supervision of our service consultant. As such, NMP qualification and experience is an essential criterion for this post.
Main duties of the job
The job role with consist of the following, but is not limited to;
- Accepting and triaging all new referrals received by the team.
- To communicate /liaise effectively with relevant referring partners and other agencies.
- Arranging and carrying out initial assessments.
- Offering time to support the wider team with visits where specialist knowledge could be required
- Being part of the wider Senior Leadership Team and encouraging evidence based changes and processes across the service.
- To ensure that any identified immediate risks are appropriately responded to and a proportionate risk management strategy is actioned, with input from the multidisciplinary team members.
- Keeping up to date with relevant perinatal research and news to share with the wider team
- Offering caseload supervision to case managers

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Person specification
Knowledge
Essential
- Able to demonstrate sound clinical expertise and knowledge of mental health disorders and their treatments.
Experience
Essential
- Guidance Score Extensive experience which has required supervision and mentorship of others.
- Extensive experience of practice within clinical areas
Desirable
- Experience of supporting people with first episode psychosis
- Experience of implementing evidence based practice and or service improvement initiative.
Qualifications
Essential
- RMN or equivalent professional qualification.
- Non-Medical Independent Prescriber
Desirable
- Study experience at Masters level, study at that level or clinical experience.
- BFT trained and recent experience of facilitating BFT with service users and their families
