An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Rotherham Foundation Trust for a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Band 6, within the Gynaecology nursing team.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated nurse who is passionate about delivering patient focused individualised care for those on a Gynaecology cancer pathway or living with cancer.
The role of a Clinical Nurse Specialist is fast paced & varied and requires excellent organisational skills with a methodical approach and ability to communicate with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
You will act as an advocate for patients and their care, providing seamless and timely management within the cancer pathway whilst maintaining high standards. You will provide comprehensive support and provide information and results to patients and families following a cancer diagnosis.
This opportunity requires you to be flexible, committed, and self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to work both independently, as part of a small team, whilst also supporting each other in a fast paced environment and the wider MDT.
The ideal candidate would be an experienced nurse working at Band 6 with experience in gynaecology Cancer services.

Main duties of the job
The Gynaecology Clinical Nurse Specialists work in collaboration with the Gynaecology oncology multi-disciplinary team, providing clinical expertise, planning of care and health needs of patients with gynaecological cancer.
Act as a keyworker for a caseload of patients to provide efficient management and delivery of patient care. Includes organising diagnostic investigations, co-ordinating and planning care within the pathway whilst working in partnership with local and regional MDT meetings.
Work autonomously and able to manage complex situations providing support and information to patients and families.
Provide specialist holistic support and treatment whilst co-ordinating services and personalising the cancer pathway.
You will work within a small team & the wider MDT and therefore must be able to forge good working relations.
Act as an advocate for patient care, be able to liaise with multiple professionals across both TRFT and other hospitals, formulate treatment plans and communicate these effectively.
Work independently to run nurse-led clinics to manage the follow-up pathways of patients.
Support the Lead CNS in the ongoing development of the service.
Participate in audits, gather information and be able to input this on to various data collection forums and present where needed.
Influence the development of policies and clinical guidelines within the Gynaecology cancer speciality
