We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Band 6) within NHSGGC’s Women and Children’s Directorate, specialising in Uro-Gynaecology. This rewarding role places you at the forefront of delivering expert, patient-centred care, working autonomously and as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team. You will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing and managing patients, ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes and compassionate support throughout their journey.   • Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
  • New Victoria Hospital
  • Fixed-Term for 6 months
  • Monday to Friday
  • Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert clinical assessment, diagnosis and management for patients with uro-gynaecology conditions
  • Manage and prioritise a defined patient caseload, ensuring accurate care planning and continuity of care
  • Run specialist clinics, order and interpret diagnostic tests and implement evidence-based treatment plans
  • Provide advice, education and emotional support to patients, families and the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Act as a clinical expert and role model, supporting and supervising nursing and junior staff
  • Lead or contribute to audit, research and service development to enhance patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records, contribute to risk management and support quality improvement initiatives

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • First level Registered Nurse with significant post-registration experience
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience
  • Demonstrable specialist knowledge in uro-gynaecology or related clinical field
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to achieving clinical competencies
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills with the ability to work autonomously in a complex environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including handling sensitive and complex information
  • Ability to lead, support and influence practice within a multidisciplinary team setting
