The role:
The purpose of this role is to provide expert clinical practice as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, using advanced specialist knowledge to support clinical decision‑making and independent management of patients preparing to travel internationally. The post holder will carry out complex clinical assessments, apply high‑level decision‑making skills, and exercise sound clinical judgment to develop appropriate vaccination and treatment plans.
This role involves offering specialist advice and guidance to clients to support safe and informed choices when travelling to countries where additional vaccinations or travel‑related medications are required or recommended. The post holder will also provide expert support to healthcare professionals, clients, and their families.
In addition, the post holder will contribute to the ongoing development of the service, working collaboratively across healthcare boundaries to enhance practice and support the implementation and evaluation of evidence‑based standards, guidelines, and policies.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
Evidence of TREC course completion or equivalent (Desired but not essential)
Prescribing experience relevant to specialist role e.g. nurse prescribing (v100/v150) or independent supplementary prescribing (v300) (Desired but not essential)
Diploma in Travel Medicine or equivalent (Desired but not essential)
