Secondment Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Plastics on a years secondment/fixed term contract.
This is a rare opportunity to work within an established speciality while driving the development of innovative nurse-led services and clinical pathways, improving patient care and experience.
As a key member of the team, you will:
- Deliver nurse-led clinics (virtual and face-to-face)
- Treat and discharge patient as per protocol
- Work closely with Consultants and fellow CNS colleagues, Clinic staff and the admin team.
- Triage patients referred to ensure they are directed to the right service provider
- Perform complex dressing
- Conduct and manage dressings clinics alongside current CNS team
You will utilise and develop clinical skills including informing patients of result and discharging from clinics following strict protocols.
We are seeking someone who:
- Has a strong passion for Plastics and Dermatology care
- Demonstrates excellent clinical and communication skills
- Is confident working autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
- Is committed to innovation, leadership, and service improvement

Main duties of the job
- Working as an independent specialist with your own caseload
- Conducting face to face and telephone clinics including, long term follow ups
- Triage of referrals
- Continue the development of nurse led clinics within the department
- Attend MDT and take necessary actions
- Act as a resource of specialist knowledge and information for members of the Trust multi-disciplinary team
- Training of staff within the speciality
- Participate in and contribute to service improvement
