Main duties of the job

You will manage a specialist caseload across the Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology service, including the Children and Young People’s FGC/M service, Complex Congenital Gynaecology and Differences of Sex Development. The patient group includes children, young people and adults, and your role will include supporting timely access to treatment, monitoring progress and maintaining clear communication with patients, families and colleagues.

You will act as a key point of contact for patients and families, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to support assessment, treatment planning, continuity of care and communication across services.

You will lead specialist vaginal dilatation therapy for patients with vaginal agenesis and those requiring post-operative dilatation. You will also contribute to the general adolescent gynaecology service, providing care for adolescents with menstrual dysfunction with consultant support.

You will provide sensitive, age-appropriate information and emotional support to patients and families. You will advocate for patients, promote informed decision- making and ensure that safeguarding needs are recognised and appropriately addressed.

In addition, you will contribute to service improvement initiatives, support clinical governance requirements, and maintain accurate documentation. Strong organisational skills, clinical judgement, and the ability to prioritise effectively are essential to succeed in this role.
