Job overview

This role act as the operational and professional clinical lead, overseeing the delivery of Resuscitation Services across the organisation. It is fundamental in supporting the health board to meet its strategic objectives of developing a competent and effective clinical workforce, with the right levels of skills to meet current and future service requirements in relation to the deteriorating patient and resuscitation.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing high- level professional oversight for Resuscitation Services in all PTHB services areas, providing assurance to the Medical Director and Board that the delivery arrangements meet the quality standards of the Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK).
  • Provide expert specialist clinical and professional advice on matters including policy development, training, clinical governance, equipment and incident analysis.
  • Manage the delivery of Resuscitation Training, including the internal Basic Life Support (BLS) offer, ensuring that it is evidence-based and meets the needs of PTHB clinicians. Further, the role will lead and contribute to the development and delivery of relevant clinical skills training specifically around the care of the deteriorating patient, NEWS and sepsis.
  • Ensuring that robust governance arrangements are in place to assure the organisation that services are managing resuscitation equipment effectively.
