Job summary
Fixed term contract until 31 March 2026. Applicants must be an independent prescriber with an active GPhC registration.
The post holder will provide clinical leadership to ABC's team of Non-Medical Prescribers including Clinical Pharmacists, Advanced Paramedic Practitioners and Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
As ABC continues to recruit and embed non-medical prescribers to support its clinical team, the role will have a strong focus on the integration of these teams to facilitate enhanced team-working and improved service efficiencies and capacity. The role will provide leadership to ABC's non-medical prescribers, including regular clinical supervision and one-to-ones, review of clinical consultations, quality improvement, prescribing, incidents and holistic support and mentorship.
Main duties of the job
Strategic Planning and Service Development
- To provide expert leadership, governance and oversight for all Non-Medical Prescribers and non-medical prescribing activity
- To ensure that non-medical prescribing practice is safe, legally compliant, evidence based and aligned with national and local frameworks
- To lead the development, implementation and evaluation of ABC's non-medical prescribing strategy and appropriate quality improvement projects
- Develop and maintain robust clinical governance arrangements for non-medical prescribing including audits, incident reviews and safety monitoring

Job responsibilities
Quality Improvement and Data Oversight
- Monitor prescribing trends within the non-medical prescribing team
- Ensure service and prescribing audits are completed, reported and actions followed up as necessary
- Identify improvements and developments in non-medical prescribing activity, working closely with the appropriate Service Manager(s) to ensure implementation
Leadership, Workforce Development and Line Management
- Develop and implement competency frameworks, supervision models and CPD plans for Non-Medical Prescribers
- Leading and managing ABC's team of Non-Medical Prescribers including supervision, competency development and performance oversight
- Lead recruitment, induction and performance management of Non-Medical Prescribers
- Support Non-Medical Prescribers in maintaining competence and developing their scope of practice
- Support workforce capability and confidence in prescribing
- To provide structured clinical supervision and guidance to all Non-Medical Prescribers
- To provide and facilitate reflective learning

Supervision

You will receive an in-depth induction programme and will be invited to a face-to-face induction day within your first week to give you relevant information about the organisation and your job role.
