Humber Health Partnership have a very exciting opportunity for a fixed-term Band 7 Clinical Lead Physiotherapist to join our MSK team at Hull Royal Infirmary / Castle Hill Hospital. The service provide physiotherapy support to patients who are referred in the service with both acute and chronic  injuries / conditions. You will work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in order to identify, address and optimise patients' therapy needs.

The service is looking for an enthusiastic individual with acute / MSK healthcare leadership experience to work with our existing senior team.  The post-holder will provide clinical and professional leadership to the team, and take a primary role in conjunction with the existing Clinical Leads in driving the ongoing development of the service to ensure the service is effective for meeting patient's needs.

This is an ideal role for an experienced individual looking to take a step into Clinical Leadership and consolidate both clinical and managerial skills in this core acute clinical speciality.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work alongside the multidisciplinary team to plan, coordinate, deliver and review the therapy service provided to patients referred into the outpatient setting.  As a Clinical Lead Physiotherapist, you will have an enhanced level of clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions.

You will be jointly responsibility for the clinical leadership, professional and organisational development of the service, along with the existing Clinical Leads within team. You will also liaise closely with other Clinical Leads of related and interconnected clinical services to ensure effective patient pathways through the system. You will be required to have a high regard for clinical operations and governance to assure high standards of patient centred care.

We are seeking an individual who can adapt to changing environments and work well in a team. You will be expected to be an active member of the team and build networks to ensure working in partnerships with other agencies to identify and address immediate needs.

The post holder will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to prioritise and work effectively in a timely manner.

Essential

  • Commitment to CPD and evidence working to the 4 pillars of practice
  • To accept change and help support others during times of transition

Education/Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in physiotherapy or equivalent
  • HCPC registration (or applied for)
  • Accredited student educator from UK higher learning institute

Desirable

  • Post-graduate training/ qualification i.e. MSc, PGDip (or standalone modules) in relevant topics
  • Post Graduate qualification or education in leadership

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Ability to demonstrate significant consolidated clinical experience at senior level in acute / MSK specialities
  • At least 24 months experience working as a senior physiotherapist in the UK

Desirable

  • Advanced communication training
  • Able to evidence people management training, e.g. appraisal skills, coaching

Skills , knowledge and ability

Essential

  • Demonstrate ability to prioritise caseload and delegate clinical and non-clinical duties to staff of a lower grade
  • Demonstrate awareness of how to create opportunities to develop self and others
  • Ability to monitor and manage the performance of staff within a team
  • Ability to lead the Therapy team to maintain clinical standards for the service

Desirable

  • Experience in running or involvement in clinical or service audit
  • Member of relevant CSP special interest group or equivalent
