Successful applicants will be required to work the full range of shifts which will include days, long-days, nights and weekends on a rota basis. Part-time opportunities are not available through this vacancy, and will be advertised separately.
Unfortunately we are unable to offer Sponsorship for this post. For details of which visas can be permitted, please review the attached Information Pack.
Our Healthcare Support Workers deliver a key role that’s at the very heart of healthcare, and can be found across a variety of settings, from hospital clinics, to our wards and outreach services.
What ever your background story, if you're aged 18 years or over and have a passion for caring and supporting others, we want to hear from you.
It’s a hands-on-role, but also one of the most rewarding. Your day-to-day will vary depending on which part of the NHS you’re working in.
Start date - August and October start dates (exact dates to be confirmed).
For entrants without any previous experience, we offer a Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker post. These individuals will provide personal care to our patients, supporting patients with aspects such as toileting, bathing, dressing and meals. Full training and support will be provided to all individuals via our Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship development programme.
Successful applicants are required to evidence their right to work in the UK, and provide evidence of continuous UK residency for a minimum of three years to fulfil the national apprenticeship programme requirements.
For those with existing experience, we have opportunities for Band 3 Clinical Healthcare Support Workers, whose role will be to undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties, recording patient observations and progressing patients treatment plans within guidelines set. Clinical duties may include taking blood pressure, blood glucose monitoring, routine observations, wound observations and simple wound dressings, removal of peripheral cannulas and catheters.
Our Band 3 Clinical Healthcare Support Workers work without the need for direct supervision. Ongoing training and development will however be provided to ensure the enhanced clinical competencies have been achieved relevant to the ward/area of specialty.
We understand that the size of the NHS can sometimes make it difficult to navigate, especially with the different areas and various specialities! So, we’ve come together to simplify the process.
Acting centrally on behalf of our wards and departments, we will provide the details through a single advert, enabling individuals to apply once whilst being considered for the various opportunities available.
Applicants suitability for a new to care Band 2 position or an experienced Band 3 position will be considered based upon their previous experience outlined within their application. Successful applicants will then be further assessed at interview to determine which level of role would be most suitable.
Candidates invited for interview will be given the opportunity to highlight their preference of location and/or speciality, should they wish.
Please be advised that our current opportunities are only available to individuals over the age of 18.
Unfortunately, neither of these posts are eligible for sponsorship, and therefore all applicants must have the right to reside and work in the UK.
For a full list of permitted visa's that can be considered as part of an application, please review the attached Information Pack.
