To assist the clinical members of the ophthalmology team under their supervision, in providing a high-quality, comprehensive nursing service to all patients and service users accessing the Day unit. Ensuring high standard of patient care is maintained in a safe environment.
Main duties of the job
This is a permanent 37.5hrs/week position. Hours varies from 8am-6pm or 8am-7pm and you will be expected to be flexible to meet the needs of the service. We operate Monday to Friday and full day Saturday per month. You will be working mainly in Theatre but you will have the opportunity to work on the Day Unit upon arrangement.
We are looking for someone who has the willingness to develop new skills and competencies. Also, have good knowledge of IT/Trak computer system.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Duties includes
- The moving and positioning of patients within the operating department
- Assisting in the provision of a safe environment within the operating department.
- Delivery and distribution of pharmacy items within the operating theatre department
- The storage and disposal of linen and theatre clothing and the cleaning of theatre footwear.
- Providing messenger service within the operating department and day unit.
- To cover on call shifts alongside scrub nurses.
- Such other duties as may be determined by the Theatre Manager.
