Job summary

Clinical Fellow with a special interest in Fetal Monitoring in the department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology We are inviting applications to fill our Clinical Fellow with a special interest in Fetal Monitoring & Maternal Medicine vacancy at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. This post will commence September 2026 and end in September 2027 and is a fixed term for 1 year. Candidates must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice at the time of application.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic doctor to join the current Obstetrics and Gynaecology team as a clinical fellow at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The service is delivered through four sites: St James University Hospital (SJUH), Leeds General Infirmary (LGI), Wharfdale General Hospital and Seacroft Hospital. The above post is suitable for doctors wishing to gain clinical experience at a ST3-5level in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The post offers the successful candidate a wide range of experience in all areas of the specialty. Whilst this post is not recognised for training, the appointee will be supported by a Clinical Supervisor to meet their career and educational goals. There will be opportunities to develop special interests in Maternal Medicine / Fetal monitoring. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to get involved in the several specialised maternal medicine clinics which take place across both hospitals. These are run by specialists in the field and include diabetes, endocrinology, haematology, cardiology, gastro-intestinal and rheumatology. In addition s/he will be invited to participate in the regular MDT meetings as well getting involved and leading QI projects and teaching in the area. The FM team consists of two obstetricians and two midwives who are responsible for the teaching, assessment and clinical governance around fetal monitoring.
