Job summary

Clinical Fellow with a special interest in Health Associated Infections and Infection Prevention and Control in the department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. We are inviting applications to fill our Senior Clinical Fellow with a special interest in Healthcare Associated Infections and Infection Prevention and Control vacancy at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. This post will commence September 2026 and end in September 2027 and is a fixed term for 1 year. Candidates must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice at the time of application.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic doctor to join the current Obstetrics and Gynaecology team as a clinical fellow at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The service is delivered through four sites: St James University Hospital (SJUH), Leeds General Infirmary (LGI), Wharfdale General Hospital and Seacroft Hospital. The above post is suitable for doctors wishing to gain clinical experience at a ST3+ level in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The post offers the successful candidate a wide range of experience in all areas of the specialty. Whilst this post is not recognised for training, the appointee will be supported by a Clinical Supervisor to meet their career and educational goals. This post is suitable for doctors wishing to gain clinical experience at an ST3+ level in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and who wish to obtain additional leadership and quality improvement skills. The post offers the successful candidate a wide range of experience in all areas of the specialty alongside an opportunity to drive the quality improvement in healthcare associated infection (HCAI) and infection, prevention and control (IPC) within the department. Whilst this post is not recognised for training, the appointee will be supported by a Clinical Supervisor to meet their career and educational goals.
