Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST3-5) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, to commence from 05 August 2026 until 03 August 2027.
We are looking for an ambitious individual who want to progress in their career as a future Obstetricians and/or Gynaecologists. The aim of this post is to act as a stepping stone towards this goal, and the post is designed to provide training to doctors with some experience in the specialty but able to act independently at a Registrar level.
The successful applicant will be expected to be involved in post graduate training of those at a ST1-2 level but also to Undergraduate Medical Students at the University of Cambridge.
The applicant would be expected to utilise the experience provided to contribute to service improvement projects and audits within the department.
Main duties of the job
The duties of the post include an on-call commitment on the Middle Grade Rota in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology which is a Tier Two of a Four Tier on-call rota with core level support, and on-site Resident Senior Registrar, as well as separate on-call Consultants for Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
In order to be considered applicants must meet the essential criteria, outlined in the job description and candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and have worked on an Obstetrics & Gynaecology on-call rota, and must hold MRCOG part 1.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.

CUH is a University Teaching Hospital and Tertiary Referral Centre that offers particular experience in Laparoscopic, Endometriosis and benign Gynaecological Surgery, Reproductive Medicine, IVF, Gynaecological Oncology, Fetal Medicine, Uro-Gynaecology, Maternal Medicine, Labour Ward management, Outpatient Hysteroscopy, Clinical Governance and Audit.
The department enjoys close links with the University of Cambridge, Academic Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and opportunities to participate in research may be available to suitable applicants.
With this in mind the post holds the potential opportunity for further career development in both clinical and academic areas.
