Join us at University Hospitals Of Leicester (UHL) NHS Trust Endoscopy Department where an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Endoscopist to join our friendly team.
This role calls for a skilled Endoscopist who is proficient in upper or lower GI endoscopic procedures and who is committed to improving patient outcomes. This is an exciting time to join our Clinical Endoscopist Team, we are committed to supporting your on-going development within the role with support from Senior Clinical Endoscopists and clinical specialists to ensure you have dedicated clinical support and mentorship as you develop your career and skills. Once you have obtained the relevant competencies and skills, the role would uplift to a Senior Clinical Endoscopist role at a Band 8a.
You will be working across our busy endoscopy units, both within the Trust Hospitals and the ‘UHL in the Community’ Hospitals and will expected to work a flexible shift pattern to cover weekdays, some weekends and evening lists. There is opportunity to learn new skills and contribute to service development whilst making a meaningful impact in patient care.
We are about to open our brand new, state-of-the-art, six-roomed endoscopy unit based at the Leicester General Hospital and this is an excellent opportunity to become involved in the rapid and exciting development of the Endoscopy services across Leicester and Leicestershire.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic practitioner to join our Clinical Endoscopist Team. You will be an autonomous independent practitioner at the forefront of their speciality and profession, which will be used as the basis for original thinking, providing senior clinical expertise, excellence, leadership and development.
You will manage your own caseload of patients undertaking gastroscopy or flexible sigmoidoscopy/colonoscopy procedures to a JAG accredited standard depending on the needs of the service.
The role will provide support, expert advice, information, coaching, supervision, education and management to other staff as well as within the wider corporate and multi-disciplinary teams. The post holder will act as an excellent clinical role model and work continuously to improve clinical care standards in line with the clinical governance framework, assisting in aspects of audit in relation to both local and national criteria set of the development of Endoscopy Units including JAG and GRS requirements.
We can offer a bespoke training package with a view to supporting the successful applicant to be a fully trained Senior Clinical Endoscopist (including Independent Prescribing module and other ACP modules) and all endoscopy modalities as required, along with the relevant JAG courses required.
