Applications are invited from enthusiastic individuals for these Clinical Development posts to support the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department in Forth Valley. We are seeking two highly motivated doctors to join our established medical team. The role will involve contributing to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Inpatient and Outpatient services.

This exciting post in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department at Forth Valley Royal Hospital provides an excellent opportunity obtain experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, working in a modern, purpose built state of the art NHS hospital. In addition, each CDF post will have 6 hours per week of protected development time and 2 hours of in-house training. The remaining period will be distributed between clinical work in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, both in the acute and outpatient settings. The hours will include out of hours working. The post will offer experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology on our Tier 2 rota. Duties will involve but will not be limited to working on the labour ward, reviewing obstetric and gynaecology emergencies and looking after antenatal, postnatal and gynaecology in-patients as well as outpatients. There will be opportunities to be exposed to obstetric ultrasound and speciality clinics within gynaecology.

Eligibility

Essential

  • Have full registration with, and hold a current licence to practise from, the GMC at intended start date
  • Have at least two years of clinical practice in obstetrics and gynaecology with evidence of achievement of ST2 level of competence as per the RCOG matrix of progression
  • Have evidence of achievement of foundation competences from a UKFPO-affiliated foundation programme or equivalent, by time of job commencement, in line with GMC standards / Good Medical Practice
  • Be eligible to work in the UK

Qualifications

Essential

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • MRCOG part 1 essential

Desirable

  • MRCOG Parts 2 and 3 desirable
