Job overview

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Trust (SATH) are working in partnership with Shropshire Community Health Trust (SCHT) to develop the role of Allied Health Professionals (AHP) in the Neonatal Unit, currently based at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the multi disciplinary AHP team and the Unit in developing service provision for babies and their families at the most critical time in their lives, and to influence the outcomes for them. The development is overseen and support provided by the regional Neonatal network.

The Children's Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Team and Paediatric Psychology Team at SCHT in-reach into the Unit. The Physiotherapists, Dieticians and Occupational Therapists are employed by SATH. This role is directly supported by our Band 7 Clinical Leads in eating, drinking and swallowing and complex needs, who are part of the neonatal team.

The SLT team and SATH leaders are committed to ensuring staff have the skills and time to feel proud of the work that we do. Alongside this role at Band 6 there are options and opportunities to deliver care and support, and to develop your skills across all our specialist pathways.

The SLT team has a research lead and we actively seek to develop everyone's  interest and participation in audit, service improvement and research .

We will support you to develop your skills and your career opportunities and provide excellent care.
