Join our dynamic Integrated Children & Families Service, a pioneering partnership between the Northern Care Alliance and Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our Borough-wide Targeted Team, where every day brings new opportunities to change lives for the better! This role will primarily support the youth justice service with health assessments and identifying health needs.

Your responsibilities will encompass assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating holistic health interventions for children and young people facing a range of challenges, including:

  • Navigating the complexities of Child Protection plans.
  • Supporting Children In Need with compassion and care.
  • Advocating for the wellbeing of Children Looked After, ensuring their voices are heard and needs are met.
  • Empowering young parents grappling with intricate health and social needs.
  • Addressing the concerns of children missing education and those in alternative provision.
  • Facilitating coordinated interventions for vulnerable children with multifaceted lives.

Main duties of the job

Join Our Team as a Child & Family Targeted Nurse (CFTN)

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families? As a Child & Family Targeted Nurse (CFTN), you'll be at the heart of safeguarding and supporting families in need, working collaboratively with a variety of agencies to ensure children’s safety and well-being.

In this vital role, you’ll take the lead in championing the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures. You’ll support the delivery of clinical and safeguarding supervision for the team, ensuring the highest standards of care for every child.

Partnering with Specialist Public Health Nurses (Health Visitors and School Nurses), you'll help deliver the Healthy Child Programme, providing exceptional care to children and young people from birth to 19 years. Working within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, you'll be part of a community dedicated to improving the health and future of Oldham's children.

This role offers flexibility, as you'll be based for administrative purposes at one location, but may be asked to work from various sites across Oldham, depending on the needs of the service.
