University Hospitals Tees is are seeking an exceptional strategic and inspirational procurement leader to join our senior leadership team as Chief Procurement Services Officer.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a high-performing procurement, supply chain and inventory management function that supports the delivery of outstanding patient care across our organisations. Reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer, you will provide strategic leadership for all aspects of procurement, commercial services, contract management, supply chain and inventory operations.

Main duties of the job

As University Hospitals Tees most senior procurement professional, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our procurement strategy across the University Hospitals group and its subsidiary organisations, ensuring compliance with evolving legislation, maximising value from significant non-pay expenditure and driving innovation across the organisation and wider health system.

You will:

Lead the development and delivery of a forward-thinking procurement and commercial strategy.

Provide expert advice to Executive Directors, Trust Boards and senior clinical leaders.

Drive sustainable cost improvement and value realisation initiatives.

Lead high-value and complex commercial negotiations.

Ensure the organisation achieves the highest standards of procurement governance, compliance and transparency.

Develop strong partnerships across the NHS, public sector and supplier communities.

Lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams across procurement, supply chain and inventory management services.

Support the delivery of strategic transformation programmes and service redesign initiatives.

Identify opportunities for innovation, commercial development and continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance with procurement legislation and governance frameworks.

Lead the implementation and optimisation of digital procurement and inventory management systems
