Priory Hospital SolihullSalary £26,878Part-time role of 34 hours per week Priory Hospital Solihull has an opportunity for a Chef with a NVQ2 or equivalent & basic qualification in food hygiene to join our team. Working from 8:30am - 5:30pm, 4 days per week. Usually Thursday - Sunday; however, a degree of flexibility is required and rosters are planned in advance. Priory Hospital Solihull, Meriden, Warwickshire is a 31-bedded level 2 rehabilitation service for males supporting the NHS. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus services and nearby train stations providing links into Coventry and Birmingham. The hospital is also well connected by road, with the M6 and M42 approximately 10 minutes away and wider access to the M40 and M1 motorways.
What you'll be doing
- Undertakes the planning, preparation and cooking of meals, taking account of any special requests or dietary requirements within the unit.
- Ensuring operational standards comply with the company’s Food Safety policies and guidelines and statutory regulations.
- Takes full shift responsibility for the catering operation (in the absence of the Head Chef).
- Ensures the cost-effective and efficient control of stock including placing orders for food products and the checking/reconciliation of deliveries.
- Monitors and adapts food production ensuring that there is a minimum amount of wasted food.
