Main duties of the job

The position of Chef de Partie at Avery Healthcare involves supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in leading a culinary team to provide a nutritionally balanced and high-quality culinary service. You will participate in meetings with residents and department heads to discuss catering functions and address special dietary needs. Your responsibilities also include preparing nutritional food and beverages according to the Head Chef's directions, supporting cost-effective stock control systems to minimize waste, and collaborating with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and review the menu regularly. To be successful in this role, you should embody Avery's values of being caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable. Candidates should possess a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, and a minimum of one year's catering experience. ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Taking part in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree catering functions across the home, and to address special needs or dietary requirements of residents.
  • Preparing nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Head Chef.
  • Supporting cost-effective stock control systems to minimise waste and ensure these are in place.
  • Working with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and review the menu on a regular basis.
