Main duties of the job

The role of the Charge Nurse involves motivating, supporting, and managing a team of nurses to ensure smooth and positive department operations. Suitable candidates will be either an existing Charge Nurse (RMN or RNLD) with relevant experience or a senior Nurse aiming for career progression. The position involves working with young individuals aged 13-17 years (CAMHS referrals) and young adults aged 18 to 25 years. The Charge Nurse will ensure provision and oversight of high-quality care for women with complex mental health needs. Responsibilities include task delegation, coordination with other teams, critical decision-making, and supervising staff while promoting teamwork and collaboration. Effective communication and collaboration with other healthcare professionals are essential. What you will be doing:

With previous experience from the NHS or private care, you will oversee and provide high-quality care and support to women with complex Mental Health needs, while supporting your team and colleagues and promote good teamwork. As a Charge Nurse, you’ll lead and coordinate the quality and management of nursing care and delivering of clinical services, ensuring the day-to-day operations of your unit is performing well. You'll also;

• Delegate nursing tasks to Nurses working in the unit and coordinate with other teams
• Monitor service users’ conditions and respond to changes
• Supervise other members within the team's unit and provide guidance and support
• Make critical decisions regarding service user assignments, staff scheduling, and resource allocation
• Be liaison between nursing staff and other healthcare professionals, with effective communication and collaboration

Where you will be working:

Location: Cotswold Spa Hospital, Station Rd, Broadway WR12 7DE

Cotswold Spa is a specialist eating disorder clinic for young people aged from 13-17 years (CAMHS referrals) and young adults aged 18 to 25 years.

The service treats patients with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and mental health diagnosis such as anxiety, depression, OCD, and some may have a co-morbid diagnosis of learning disabilities.

The hospital is Ofsted registered and provides education facilities for patients who are still studying.

Patients on average stay for a period of 3-4 months. The aim is to restore a healthy weight, modify problem behaviours linked to the eating disorder and help parents and carers work with the young person.

Brook House was recently opened and is situated just a few doors down. This is a satellite centre and supports residents. We are not currently recruiting into this service.
