CBT Therapist for Psychosis

Job overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate CBT Practitioner with specialist expertise and experience in working with people experiencing psychosis. You will work in our community based mental health team in S Camden. You will provide evidence-based psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention for individuals presenting with psychosis and related difficulties, delivering person-centred care that promotes recovery, resilience, and improved quality of life.

In addition to the specialist psychosis work, the successful candidate will undertake comprehensive CBT assessments and develop formulation-driven treatment plans for individuals experiencing common mental health difficulties, including anxiety and depression. You will work within a strong psychology team. We hold regular meetings and are an integrated part of our MDT team and the wider psychology team across the three core teams of South Camden, Kentish Town and North West.

Main duties of the job

They will deliver high-quality CBT interventions in line with recognised clinical guidelines, adapting approaches to meet the diverse needs of service users and ensuring that care is informed by the latest evidence-based practice. The role also includes providing psychological consultation, advice, and support to the wider multidisciplinary team, contributing to the development of psychologically informed care across the service. The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance clinical understanding, support case formulation, and promote best practice in the assessment and treatment of complex mental health presentations. They will contribute to service development, clinical governance, and the continuous improvement of patient outcomes.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This role is a specialist CBT therapist post with a focus on working with clients experiencing distressing psychosis. The postholder carries a specialist caseload and plays a key role in delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for psychosis (CBTp) within Camden core teams. In addition, the role provides specialist CBT interventions for clients with depression and anxiety whose needs are too complex for primary care talking therapies services.
