To assist in providing a high-quality food service to patients, staff and visitor
Main duties of the job
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Catering
- Responsible for performing general catering duties i.e. service of food, cleaning of premises and equipment, preparation of snacks, salads, sandwiches, vegetable prep and beverages.
- Responsible for utilising safely mechanical and electrical equipment including operating wash-up machine/floor cleaning machine following appropriate training as required.
- To check meal order sheets that have been submitted to ensure correct food is served as per the request.
- Have knowledge of allergens within food service.
- To assist in the introduction of new staff under the guidance and advice of the Catering Shift leader/Supervisor.
- Responsible in providing food service to patients, staff and visitors.
Stock
- Responsible for the receipt and storage of goods in accordance with the departmental HACCP procedure.
- On occasions responsible for the opening and closing of the main kitchen along with assisting senior chef with cooking duties.
