The Role

Working as part of Catering team to deliver of a range of food and beverages in line with Food Hygiene legislation and NHS Lanarkshire policies and procedures to meet the nutritional needs of Patients, Staff, and users of NHS Lanarkshire services.

To work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.

The working pattern for this role is working between hours of 10:15 & 20:00.

In this key role, you will:

  • Assist in the preparation , production, heating and reheating of food for patients, staff, visitors.
  • To work in all areas of the catering department including freezers, fridges and cold rooms.
  • Communicate with patient and record on paper or using electronic equipment i.e. Ipads, individual’s menu selection, standard and diets, ensuring the selection is signed off by nursing staff, delivering this information to wards and catering.
  • Maintaining food hygiene standards and records as required to comply with statutory obligations and HACCP.

What You'll Bring:

  • Knowledge of catering standards and related procedures.
  • Required to obtain the Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
