Main duties of the job

As a Bank Catering Assistant you will work within a healthcare setting at Springwood Lodge, assisting catering staff with the preparation and cooking of meals. You'll maintain storage procedures, stock rotation, and ensure cleanliness of all areas, equipment, and furniture. Additionally, you'll serve food and beverages to service users, staff, and visitors. The role involves liaising with dietitians and ensuring operational hygiene standards. To succeed in this role, catering qualifications are desirable, along with a knowledge of COSHH and HACCP, and experience in a similar position. As a Bank Catering Assistant you will be:

• Assisting catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Serving service users, staff and visitors with food and beverages.
• Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensuring that all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
• As part of the catering team, ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Liaising with the wider team, including dietitians regarding dietary and planned meals

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Relevant Catering Qualification (Desirable)
• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP
• Experience of working within similar role.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

Location:1 Towngate Close, Guiseley, Leeds, LS20 9PQ

You will be working at Spring Wood Lodge, a service that supports women over the age of 18 who have complex emotional and mental health problems associated with significant risk behaviours. Typically they have a diagnosis of personality disorder or a severe mental illness.

They may not have had their needs met in a general psychiatric service including acute inpatient units, community mental health teams or community personality disorder service. Working as part of a team, you will focus on active rehabilitation with a view to achieving sustainable discharge.
