Job Description:

Care Assistant

The Lawns Care Home, Lawn Lane, Springfield, Chelmsford, CM1 7JB

Salary : £12.75 up to £13.75 per hour depending on experience

Contract type : Permanent - Full Time

Hours : 33 or 44 hours per week - Days and/or nights available

Working pattern : 12-hour day shifts on a rota basis, including alternate weekends

Nestled in a quiet residential spot not far from the centre of Chelmsford, the home welcomes anyone in need of nursing, residential, convalescence, respite and palliative care. They also offer support for those living with a physical disability.

The home offers bright and homely interiors with ensuite bedrooms. Large landscaped gardens, a bright sun loggia and a furnished patio area that provide the ideal setting to relax. Equipped with a 24-hour call system, the highly trained staff and experienced staff are always on hand to provide professional care and support.

Residents can enjoy views of the garden during mealtimes in the dining room. The chef manager ensures that all residents’ nutritional needs are met with appetising meals created by the home’s dedicated chef.

Whether residents wish to continue pursuing a favourite hobby or would like to take part in a new pastime, the activities staff work hard to ensure their needs are met. Activities such as exercise classes and games are regularly organised, and a mobile library and entertainers are often on the events calendar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support residents with a wide range of differing requirements from companionship to personal care.
  • Observe and manage residents' behaviour with care and ensure to document and report any changes in accordance with the required legislation.
  • Support residents' nutrition and hydration needs, encouraging and assisting them to eat and drink according to their care plan.
  • Provide essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, both in groups and individually.
  • Maintain accurate care plans in line with regulatory & legal requirements.
