This post offers an excellent opportunity for a trainee to further develop their skills in all aspects of cardiology but primarily the post holder will be working towards developing skills to a high standard in the management of cardiac arrhythmia and cardiac devices. This will include protected time for training in the implantation and follow-up of simple and complex cardiac devices. (Pacemakers including conduction system pacing, ICDs, subcutaneous ICDs, CRTs). It is anticipated that the post-holder will become independent in cardiac device implantation after undertaking this post.

The post holder will be integral to delivering and supporting the ongoing expansion and development of the devices and arrhythmia services working as part of a multidisciplinary team in a busy department. Of the five Devices Fellow post-holders since inception of the service, two have gone on to acquire a Consultant Post and all others have been successful in acquiring a SpR NTN in Cardiology.
