Job overview
A Capital Project Manager within the Estates, Facilities, and Development Directorate coordinates and manages various Capital Investment, Backlog Maintenance, and Estates Safety Projects. The role requires significant on-site experience managing multiple stakeholders, including Contractors, Design Teams, Consultants, Principal Designers, Building Control, and User and Patient Experience Groups.
While extensive experience in the built environment is essential, knowledge of Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering is desirable. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, delivery, and performance management, adjusting plans as needed to mitigate risks and ensure successful outcomes.
Key responsibilities include rigorous oversight of projects, including risk and issue management. The role requires close collaboration with clinicians and managers to optimize patient experience and service delivery. The Project Manager must work with a broad range of stakeholders to manage interdependencies and ensure the successful achievement of evolving project objectives based on demand and funding.
Additionally, the role involves managing project finances, overseeing the ordering process, and ensuring financial control and adherence to budgets. The Project Manager is also responsible for obtaining briefs and developing tender documentation in line with Trust financial instructions.

The post-holder is responsible for providing project management and support to ensure outputs are delivered effectively.
The post holder will take a lead on one or more projects, responsible for planning, day-to-day delivery, and subsequent performance management, adjusting plans as required to ensure that risks and issues are mitigated.
The post holder will work with clinicians and managers to ensure provision of the best possible patient experience and service delivery.

The post holder will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective management of interdependencies and delivery of objectives.
