Are you an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse/ RNLD or Qualified Social Worker looking to join our multi-disciplinary team at Dorset CAMHS, as part of our Transforming Children and Young People’s Mental Health (CYP MH) Service.

This role sits within our Community CAMHS service and will evolve as part of our transformation to the i-Thrive model. You will work within the “Getting More Help” pathway, supporting children and young people with complex mental health needs through assessment, intervention and care coordination.

Our service is undergoing significant growth and transformation, with new investment and development underway. During this period, roles are pan-Dorset, and you may work from a temporary base while new structures are embedded. Flexible working, including extended hours, may be required.

The CAMHS Practitioner role is a full-time permanent post. We will welcome part-time applicants, with a minimum of 22.5 hours per week and condensed hours will also be supported. There is also an opportunity for an 18-month fixed-term role.

This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only.  Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

As a Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner, you will:

• Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk assessment and formulation
• Deliver goal-focused, evidence-based interventions for children and young people
• Provide care coordination for a defined caseload
• Work collaboratively with families, schools, social care, GPs and voluntary services
• Contribute to multi-disciplinary team working and decision-making
• Promote early intervention, recovery, resilience and inclusion
• Maintain accurate, timely and confidential clinical records
• Actively engage in clinical supervision, reflective practice and continuing professional development

Following appointment, there is an expectation that staff will enrol in the DBS Update Service to maintain their DBS status.
