Job overview
Are you a qualified IAPT Neurodevelopmental Practitioner looking for a rewarding role within a supportive and evolving service? If you have completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Learning Disability and Autism, we'd love to hear from you.
Dorset CAMHS is transforming into a Family Mental Health Service, guided by the THRIVE framework. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking team and help shape services that put children, young people and families at the centre of care.
As an IAPT Neurodevelopmental Practitioner, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to support children and young people with neurodevelopmental needs across our ADHD and Autism pathways. You will hold a caseload, providing regular reviews, care coordination, post-diagnostic support, and practical advice to children, young people and their families. Working closely with schools and partner agencies, you will help ensure young people receive the right support at the right time.
We are looking for someone who is compassionate, enthusiastic and committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care. In return, you'll join a welcoming team where collaboration, innovation and professional development are actively encouraged.
This is a full-time position; however, part-time hours of 30 hours or more will be considered. Flexible working options may be available.
Join us and help make a positive difference to the lives of children, young people and families across Dorset.
Main duties of the job
You will assess, formulate and deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions for children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders, including ASC and ADHD. This will include consideration of associated presentations such as anxiety, low mood, attachment and social difficulties, ensuring interventions are tailored to individual needs.
The role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and across agencies including education, social care, health and the voluntary sector. You will contribute to multi-agency meetings and integrated care planning, undertake risk assessments, and implement risk management plans in line with Trust safeguarding policies.
You will deliver interventions in a range of settings including clinics, community venues, schools and family homes as appropriate. The post holder will contribute to service development, audit, outcome monitoring and participation activity aligned with the THRIVE framework, maintain accurate clinical records, and engage in regular supervision, appraisal and continuing professional development.
This is a pan-Dorset role with a temporary base during service transformation. As the service continues to develop, flexibility will be required to support changing service needs. The ability to travel independently across Dorset is essential.
