This newly established post is for an Advanced Practitioner Mammographer to develop and work in the symptomatic breast imaging service within the radiology team.
This exciting opportunity is a permanent position that will be within a small breast imaging team and offers opportunity to develop the breast imaging team. The breast service at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust does not include a breast screening programme. The team comprises of 2 radiologists with a special interest in breast radiology and 3 mammographers who work very closely with the breast team to provide an excellent symptomatic breast service.
As a new post this offers a great chance to shape the future of the breast imaging team and lead and develop the symptomatic breast imaging service into the new hospital due to open in 2030.
The role requires an individual with passion, commitment, excellent communication skills and a vision to drive the development of the symptomatic breast imaging service
It would be expected that you support the breast services and senior divisional management team. It is anticipated that you will have a pivotal role in supporting and developing robust, safe and a forward-thinking service with allocated resources.
To have a strategic overview of how to improve breast services and work as a key stakeholder in leading the advanced and enhanced clinical practice by clinical colleagues.
The candidate would be expected to be proficient in all aspects of skills required to deliver a one stop breast clinic including diagnostic and interventional breast radiology and reporting of images.
Any other duties necessary for the successful performance of the role, commensurate with the grade.
As an Advanced Practitioner you would be expected to take an active role in research and development, training and education, leadership and management. You would be an autonomous practitioner, demonstrating evidenced based practice to uphold the four pillars of advanced clinical practice in keeping with the Society of Radiographers career framework.
You will work with a job plan and will have allocated time to fulfil all the requirements to fulfil the role of an Advanced Practitioner.
