Biochemistry Associate Practitioner
Band 4
Based at Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Permanent
Requirement to support 24-7 Seven day working pattern as defined on
Laboratory Rota.
Main duties of the job
The post will be based primarily at Royal Stoke Hospital. This is an interesting, varied and important job, and previous experience of working in an NHS Clinical Pathology laboratory is required.
This AP role looks to develop any B3 skills held into aspects of a supervisory role & training.
Key abilities to support
Sample receipt & External Laboratory referral,
Maintenance & Operational aspects in Core Biochemistry - Automated Track solution,
Protein Chemistry BN11 - Optilite operation.

Qualifications
Essential
- Experience and/or qualifications in NHS Laboratory
- Knowledge and experience of healthcare science duties to NVQ level 3 (2 A levels) plus additional theoretical or applied
Desirable
- Training to Foundation Degree Level
- IBMS Certificate of Achievement Part II

- Evidence of work of consistent and predictable high quality. Previous roles & experience listed.
- Professional personal presentation and manner. - Supportive values to the Team
- Prepared to work flexibly, including participation in a shift pattern which includes early, late, weekend, and Bank Holiday shifts and other out of hours rotas as required.
- Ability and willingness to fulfil the travel requirements of the post if relevant - primary place of work as per JD but on rare occasion may reasonably be asked to work at another site where the Trust has responsibility for Pathology services.
Desirable
- 1-2 years NHS Clinical Lab experience / transferable Lab skills - other work enviroment
