JOB DESCRIPTION
POST: Data Validation Officer/MDT Co-ordinator
LOCATION: BCH
GRADE: Band 4
REPORTS TO: Administrative & Service Support Manager Specialist Medicine
RESPONSIBLE TO: Assistant Service Manager Specialist Medicine
JOB SUMMARY / MAIN PURPOSE
The post holder will play a key role in the production and validation of information to support Specialist Medicine business objectives. They will undertake processes to ensure the completeness and validity of transplant datasets held within Encompass and transfer of this information to NHSBT ODT database. The post holder will collect, validate, record, analyse and report transplant information as requested in order to meet national, regional, and local reporting requirements.
The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination and organisation of Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings. They will attend meetings obtaining and recording relevant information to facilitate the timely provision of care for patients.
The post holder will be required to be flexible with regards to the duties and demands. They will participate in audit collection and production of audit reports.
Main Duties / Responsibilities
DATA OFFICER
Produce and validate activity and performance reports for Nephrology and Transplant Services. Taking corrective action and escalation if found to be inaccurate.
Manage, monitor and validate Encompass workqueues, ensuring timely resolution of data quality issues.
Validate patient demographics, diagnoses, transplant pathways and waiting list information.
Input, maintain and validate patient information for submission to the UK Renal Registry.
Complete and submit NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) regional transplant returns within agreed timescales.
Reconcile data across Encompass, NHSBT and Renal Registry systems and investigate discrepancies.
Retrieve and analyse clinical information data from Encompass.
Produce data quality reports and support service performance monitoring.
Provide accurate and timely information to service managers and clinical teams.
Participate in audits and preparation of audit reports.
Provide support and training relating to data quality and Epic workqueues.
Assist in the production of activity information reports both standard and ad-hoc, required to support the Specialist medicine team.
Produce lists from Encompass of patients whose details require validating e.g. diagnosis, duplicate pathways, and organise work to ensure that data is updated according to agreed deadlines.
Assist in the delivery of a high-quality information service to support the business needs of services groups and performance management.
Participate in developing information reports to ensure data quality within the Trust’s information systems.
Provide accurate and timely data to the Assistant Service Manager (Nephrology & Transplant Services) Specialist Medicine.
