An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Acute Team at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital. We are looking for a Bank Band 4 Therapy Practitioner to join our established, friendly and experienced team.

The role will require a highly motivated enthusiastic individual who has the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be able to show initiative, have good communication and organisational skills, being able to prioritise a caseload in a busy acute setting.

Main duties of the job

The role will be based in the Acute adult inpatient team and rotate through areas including General Medicine, Cardiac, Surgical, Elderly Care and the Therapy Early Discharge Support team (TEDS). You will provide acute rehabilitation to maximise independence and facilitate discharge from the hospital setting. This will involve working closely with Therapy colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team.

Successful candidates are expected to hold a valid UK manual car drivers full licence or be able to arrange alternative means to complete community visits as required, unless medically exempt.

Your life outside HHFT is important and the Trust is happy to consider applications with flexible working patterns that cater to individual requirements; this can be discussed at interview. We cover a 7 day service so regular weekend working will be required.

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Previous experience working as a Band 3 Therapy assistant
  • Previous experience working within the acute hospital setting
  • Experience of working in an enabling or caring environment

Training and Qualifications

Essential

  • Key Stage 2 English
  • Key Stage 2 Numeracy
  • Evidence of having attained or of working towards a recognised qualification, (NVQ 3 level), to enable implementation of prescribed rehabilitation programmes for a range of conditions- eg Foundation degree, NVQ relevant competency framework, or equivalent
