The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Estates Department would like to appoint a Bank Maintenance Craftsperson (Joiner) to cover shifts on an "as and when" basis. The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the Department provides a safe, efficient and effective Maintenance Service to the Trust.
Your main responsibility will be to carry out general building maintenance of the Trust’s buildings structure, fabric, finishes and fittings. You will be required to implement safe systems, complying with statutory and regulatory requirements and supporting innovation.
You will have served a recognised craft apprenticeship and appropriate BTEC/HNC Level or City & Guilds plus relevant post apprenticeship training or equivalent experience. You will be capable of interacting with staff at all levels on a day-to-day basis and have effective communication skills.
Evidence of good practical skills, a sound knowledge and understanding of building maintenance is preferred.
1. You will undertake work in a safe and effective manner, complying with all relevant safety legislation and procedures. 2. As a bank maintenance craftsperson you will perform a wide range of work for other building and engineering service disciplines. You will therefore be required to undertake multi-skilling tasks i.e. carry out minor works of other non-core trades such as mechanical, plumbing, etc. 3. You will be available at all times via the PDA system to contribute and work towards the safety & welfare. of patients and other staff and to respond to any emergencies accordingly. 4. You will carry out maintenance tasks including statutory, mandatory, planned preventative and reactive maintenance. 5. You will manufacture/fabricate using woodworking machinery and hand tools, fixtures and fittings to match existing, assemble, erect and install often without supervision.
