Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHC) would love to hear from you, as we are seeking to recruit Level 6 Bank Prison Nurses for flexible working opportunities at HM Prison Birmingham via Temporary Staffing
The Trust provides primary care & inpatient services in HMP Birmingham which is a male prison that can house up to 1450 prisoners. The prison is a 24 hour service and offers varied nursing experiences and training opportunities.
You do not need to have had any previous prison experience however we would especially welcome applicants who have the following skill set: competent in dispensing of medication, wound dressings including compression bandaging, phlebotomy, imms & vacs trained. Varied nursing experience in a challenging but fulfilling area. We would require applicants to have been qualified with relevant experience, as much of the care is nurse-led and encourages decision making. The department is well supported by a team of GPs and Allied Health Professionals. They are constantly striving to improve the standard of care delivery to prisoners and to make innovative changes, which will further enhance the service.
We will not accept applications from unqualified or Student Nurses for this position.

The Trust will pay for your DBS as part of the pre-employment checks. When you commence in post, the cost of the DBS, will be deducted from your salary over 3 monthly instalments. The cost of the DBS including the administration fee is standard DBS £25.40 and enhanced £53.50.
Some posts require an annual DBS. For these posts the Trust will renew your DBS. When your DBS has been renewed you will not be charged for the DBS renewal. The Trust would however encourage you to sign up to the DBS update service on receipt of your completed DBS.
If you leave your post prior to paying for the DBS the full final payment will be deducted form your final months pay.
